HairstylesWhen choosing your hairstyle, remember that you’ll have a much easier time if you choose a style that lets hair do what it wantsnaturally.Fine Hair has the appearance of softness, which can be very feminine and appealing. However, if you want it to look thicker, you should have it layered slightly. A soft body wave adds fullness and hair coloring can also give more body and make it look thicker.
Course Hair has an overall heavy look - one that makes a statement. Cut is very important and a haircut that shapes the face will also help control the hair. Coloring will soften the texture by filling in and smoothing out the cuticle.
Straight Hair can be thick or thin but when in perfect, shiny condition, it gives the impression of a shimmering sheet of hair. A straight, blunt cut to the length you decide is best. A body wave will create movement and curlers will help add height.
Curly Hair is perhaps the most versatile. You can blow-dry it straight, use rollers of various sizes to adjust the natural curls, or let it go soft and curly on its own.
Hairstyles 2010
There are only a few months left in 2009 and when it comes to hair those months can be spent either growing out those shorter locks or keeping a tousled look fresh and clean. The celebrity events of the summer and fall offer a glimpse at what is popular today and what will be popular tomorrow, especially for 2010 hairstyles. The Natural Look Stays Alive
Taking a brief walk down memory lane, there has not been one celebrity event this year where long, natural locks did not reign supreme. Long hair is a limitless canvas with which shorter styles can be crafted with a few clips and bands. Without a doubt, 2010 will be filled with more natural looks as will 2011, 2012 and so on. The queens of the natural style include Kim Kardashian, Ashley Tisdale and Megan Fox.
The Emo – A Rebirth?
Thanks to photos from the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, we may not have seen the last of the Emo styles. Kristen Stewart, of Twilight fame, appeared on the carpet with a messy style straight out of the Emo how to handbook. The style is fresh and edgy, but may not look right on everyone.
Not too Short / Not too Long
Fashion gurus predicted the shoulder length style to be the most popular for 2009 and they may have been right. Throughout the year, more and more celebs like, Christina Applegate and Drew Barrymore were photographed with shoulder length locks. More often, however, was the updo with just enough hair left flowing to look like a shoulder length do.
The Shorter the Better
In any list of hairstyles, the shortest of all dos is bound to be popular for some celebrities. This year, the celebrities with the shortest dos may be a little surprising. Katie Holmes, Camilla Bella and Halle Berry were all seen with varying short cuts. Halle Berry has always looked great in short hair, but her pixie cut took things to a whole new level. The pixie cut is extremely short and styled as a tousled look.
Camilla Bella chose more of a retro style for her short cut. The bangs just swiped behind the ear and layered cuts accentuated with large curls. The Katie Holmes cut was more akin to Victoria Beckham. The cut was razor edge sharp and just below the ear.
These celebrity styles appeared on every red carpet this season which means they will continue to be popular in 2010. You can never go wrong with a long style that can be tailored to look shorter and more funky when the time is right. But, if you hair needs a fresh start, the pixie cut is the perfect way to cut out all damage and stay in style.
