Back to school. Each year it brings bac

Back to school. Each year it brings back the same memories. Some good some bad. Good ones like the fresh pack of crayons, Trapper Keeper notebooks and new backpacks. Buying new clothes was another thing I always looked forward to. I used to get the Fall issue of Seventeen Magazine in the late summer and start circling pages and pages of clothes. I wanted to be so trendy. I wasn't very popular in school. Always kinda stuck between the freaks and geeks...never fitting in with either. I remember one year I got an entire outfit straight out of the pages of Seventeen Magazine. Yes. I was entering the 7th grade. I chose a red sweater vest, a black & gray plaid shirt to wear with the vest and black jeans. (OK not entirely the same outfit. The Jeans in Seventeen were by Guess and the ones I got were by Palmetto..the cheap rip off of Guess Jeans.) My mother decided it all needed to be washed prior to wearing it to school. Not paying attention to the washing instructions, everything shrunk. The day I chose to wear the new outfit, the sweater vest was too tight, the sleeves on the shirt were at my forearms and the pants barely buttoned. I HAD to wear the outfit because I was lectured about HOW MUCH MONEY my parents spent on the new outfit. I wore the outfit to school but it was awful on me. The sweater seemed to cling to any roll of fat (real or imagined) on my torso. It was unusually hot that day so I was sweating in my "new" outfit and by the end of the day my back and underarms were damp from sweat. I raced home after school, took off all my clothes, changed into something that hid all my flaws and ripped up the entire outfit. In a fit of tears and sweat I stuffed all the "evidence" into a garbage bag and secreted it under my bed until such time that I could put it in the trash without my parent's noticing. They never once asked me about that outfit nor do I think they even noticed I never wore it past the first day. The 2nd day of 7th

Notes: I used my brushes ever so

Notes: I used my brushes ever so slightly damp with Maple Blossom so that I'd get more color payoff. Also, in my opinion when you use your brushes damp, the colors blend into one another much better. had been wanting this one since

had been wanting this one since I first laid eyes on it online. I debated a while - I already have the balls in Mythic & Beige Chic and the Voyage Meteorites in Mythic. Finally, I just ordered it and have been waiting patiently for close to 2 weeks for it to arrive.
Thoughts: This compact is huge, extremely thick and I'm having a hard time seeing the point in the case being so thick. Maybe someone can explain it to me. It's pretty, dark bronzy color on the sides and bottom while the top looks like a light coppery pink with seashell looking accents.
It is a screw on lid which I find annoying. It has no mirror which is also annoying. If you're going to make something this huge then at least put a mirror in the damn thing. Especially considering
I am more than willing to overlook those few shortcomings now that I have seen and used the actual powder. This stuff is gorgeous. It has a shimmery overspray which pretty much came off after the first swipe of my big brush. But the powder itself is infused with a very subtle shimmer.
It ranges in shades from a very light fleshtone, to apricot, to a light mocha with an aqua green correcting shade in the center.
I swirl my brush over the top and pick them all up at once. It feels like velvet on the skin and once applied truly lives up to what the botto

he beauty look at Elie Saab'

he beauty look at Elie Saab's falhow in Paris was lovely and ladylike – along with a side of fierce. Hair was swept to the side and romantically folded into a low chignon at the back, which created a stunning, angelic effect that also felt very 30s/40s retro. Meanwhile, the eyes smouldered with a combination dark smokey eye and cat's eye, for a fierce fusion of two key eye makeup looks of the last few seasons. The rest of the face looked positively cherubic, with a soft almost-nude, shimmery lip and a light dusting of blush on the cheeks. Love the contrast of edgy and feminine, soft and dark here.
